In 2024-2025, Elise Brekke is participating in Queen Sonja’s Opera Academy, an exclusive professional development program for young singers. She has already attended masterclasses with leading industry experts, including Annette Weber, David Gowland, David Sulkin, and Ulrike Köstinger.

Biography

Elise Kolltveit Brekke (born 2000) is a Norwegian lyric soprano. In 2023, she graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Classical Vocal Performance with high distinction from the University of Stavanger, where she studied under the guidance of Elizabeth Norberg-Schulz. She also completed a six-month period of study with Francesca Pedaci at the Conservatorio Giovanni Battista Martini in Bologna. During her bachelor’s studies, Elise participated in several productions, taking on notable roles such as Serpina in La Serva Padrona (Pergolesi) and Barbarina in The Marriage of Figaro (Mozart), as well as serving as a stand-in for Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi (Puccini). Additionally, she gained valuable experience as an intern with Opera Rogaland, where she portrayed Mrs. Gobineau in The Medium by Gian Carlo Menotti. Elise is currently pursuing advanced studies in opera at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, where she is expanding her artistic expression and preparing for a professional career in the field. Her next project will be the role of Adina in Donizetti’s opera L’elisir d’amore.
